Museum Visit - 4th September

On the 4th, we went to Blackburn Museum as a group to browse through the art. A few different pieces caught my eye, especially the Japanese Egyptian pieces shown below.

Japanese

Egyptian

These two pieces caught my eye straight away, because they were so unique and outstanding compared to the other pieces of art, which were all very similar styles.

After looking around, we were asked to choose  something and write 500 words about it, and reinterpret it. Being in a museum full of mainly paintings, I felt pretty lost at first, being a photographer, and spent a lot of the time walking round thinking 'there's no way I can write 500 words on this stuff'; a lot of it just seemed simple, for example, paintings of the sea. In the end I chose Edwin Ellis' painting of the Welsh Coast from 1908, because it was one of the few that stood out - (it wasn't just a boat, or an ocean, it was a scene).
